The Ford Transit is one of the few full-size vans available to Lexington drivers, and Glenn Ford lets you select the configuration to best meet your needs. The newest version of this van gets even better gas mileage than ever before, offering businesses plenty of savings, and with a wide range of options, it is simple to find the right one.
To configure a Transit, you get to select between the van or wagon style. The van has 3 body lengths and 3 roof heights to choose from, as does the wagon. This means that the wagon can seat 8, 10, 12, or 15 passengers. There is the final choice of either single or dual rear-wheel models.
All of these options means that the cargo van can hold anywhere from 246.7 to 487.3 cubic feet. It can also carry 3,060 to 4,560 pounds of maximum payload. The Transit wagon has a maximum payload of anywhere between 2,610 and 3,480 pounds. Both vehicles can have a GVWR of up to 10,360 pounds.
Power and Capability
The base 3.7-liter V6 generates 275 horsepower plus 260 pound-feet of torque, and the Ti-VCT (twin independent variable cam timing) technology provides impressive fuel economy. You can also select the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 for 310 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. The final option is the 3.2-liter Power Stroke turbo diesel for 185 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. This final engine is ideal for severe duty uses, such as transportation or courier services.
