The top SUV from Glenn Ford, the Ford Expedition provides Lexington drivers with a roomy, comfortable vehicle for daily drives through town, off-road adventures, and family vacations with a trailer or boat.
Power, Performance, and Abilities
The Expedition comes standard with a 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 that generates 365 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. It comes standard with rear-wheel drive but it can be upgraded to 4-wheel drive including low-range gearing, and it works with a 6-speed automatic. When you configure it correctly, the Expedition can tow 9,200 pounds and can still achieve up to 18 mpg combined on a regular basis. The Platinum 4×4 is also a class leader in terms of acceleration, reaching 60 mph in only 6.5 seconds, proving the V6 engine’s worth by beating numerous V8 engines.
Comfort, Convenience, and Tech
The standard Expedition seats 8, but you can configure it to seat 7 instead by selecting individual bucket seats in the 2nd row. The 3rd-row bench seat folds flat into the floor, as do the 2nd-row seats, giving 108.3 cubic feet of space in the standard-length SUV and 130.8 cubic feet in the extended-length EL version. For a truly luxurious interior, select the King Ranch model, which has Mesa Brown leather with a natural grain.
As the best-equipped Ford SUV, the Expedition can also be packed with technology. Entertainment is provided with Sync, MyFord Touch, and Sony audio. Meanwhile, you can easily start driving with keyless entry and push-button start. To stay safe, take advantage of the rearview camera and reverse/forward sensing system.
